what a shame

| The woman who works the front of the store is very nice and friendly and tried to make the best of a bad situation. It is possible that my dog and I just got very unlucky and had the misfortune to get stuck with the new guy at the place. He shaved my dog completely. She is 17 weeks old and was fully groomed at 12 weeks. There is no way that she needed to be shaved. The groomer was just lazy. And then when I was visibly upset and trying to leave the place with my puppy, (no sense in freaking out since I can't glue the hair back on her, I'll just wait for it to grow out) he basically taunted me. He laughingly shouted after me to brush my dog. I was at the vet last week and she told me my puppy was doing great and was very well cared for. This guy is just a lazy groomer, (if you can call him that at all) who didn't feel like doing his job, so he shaved my puppy and then acted like an ass. I have had 3 dogs growing up and an aunt who used to own a grooming business so I know the difference between a dog who is matted and needs to be shaved, and a tiny 17 week old puppy who is brushed every day and just needs a professional grooming. I will Never come here again and I will be telling everyone at my puppy play group and kindergarten, and dog walk park, and every dog owner I know in my building, to stay clear of this place. Oh, and they charged me $75.00 dollars and it was NOT an even shave job. A child could have done it. Terrible experience, and made soooo much worse by the snippy, hipster rotten attitude of a lazy groomer with no respect for his profession. I would have been a loyal customer for the life of my dog. But now I will do everything I can to spread the word about my terrible experience and discourage everyone I can from going here. It is a shame too b/c I understand that there is a woman who usually does the grooming and that she is great. But it's true what they say, a chain is only as strong as the weakest link and this place has a very weak link in that male "groomer." Awful, awful experience. |

| The only shop of it's kind in the area... not even in Hudson is there a pet food store that carries the natural brands and raw food diets... very knowledgeable... plus the more people who frequent the store, the greater chance this wonderful place will survive... if she does not stock the food you need, she often will order for you... but also can recommend good quality subs... can tell you which companies are reliable and make their own food... knows the ingredients... very friendly so it is a pleasure to shop there... small...so she doesn't stock 5 differnt brands of dog booties and is sometimes ou of an item, but her stock is quality and she know her business... saves a long tedious trip to albany... great find!! |
